What’s Keep It To Yourself All About?

Hello world,
For some time now, I have wanted to start a blog of interest, a controversial blog that would stimulate as well as captivate my audience; in turn motivate. I have a variety of interests ranging from the mundane everyday normal to the not so paranormal.

Instead, I decided to create a blog that would not only present my own pet peeves, but those of others as well, via posted comments. It would be a place where not only I can vent about my frustration with the insults of the modern world, but so could you. A place where we can share and get things off our chests that we can no longer keep to ourselves. The idea was born some time ago when I decided to write an article about the various things in our world that encroach upon a person’s right to enjoy life. While there are a myriad of things that can do this, there are few that are in our everyday life that we are forced to endure, and I say no more! It’s time to tell these encroachers to “keep it to yourself!” Some would say that these are “necessary evils”. I say, bullshit! They are no more necessary than getting raped or being robbed is and in some cases, many of those people who have been trespassed upon have felt that these trespasses are just that! So, without further delay, I will present my first pet peeve. It’s a toss up between inconsiderate smokers and inconsiderate drivers with pile driving car stereos and loud obnoxious mufflers. Since I have to pick one, for now, I chose the more dangerous of the two.

What is up with these people who smoke in public and think it’s ok to smoke next to someone who is coughing due to their smoking? Are they that arrogant and clueless to not notice that they are making another person uncomfortable. Sure, they say, if you don’t like it, then don’t breathe. Well, I say, keep it to yourself! You no more have the right to force me to breathe your polluted air than I have the right to fart in your face! Sometimes, we just can’t move away like when you are waiting for the bus or standing in line for tickets or any other situation that you are forced to stay put. Albeit, there are considerate smokers. If you just politely ask once, they will put it out. But then there are the assholes like the one who said to my wife and me years ago at a Xmas parade, “It’s a free country, I’ll do what I want!” This was after we politely asked him to put it out.

Well, I like to think that while it’s still a free country, we have the right to breathe unpolluted air and no one has the right to force us to do so. Just keep the damn thing to yourself and if you want to poison yourself that’s your business, but when you poison me and the ones I love, that’s my damn business. I have heard it said that “Your rights end where my fist begins” and I think that should be a rule of thumb. Everyone has a personal space and smoking in front of anyone who protests, including children, is heinous and is grounds for self-defense, especially if you have nowhere to go to defend yourself from the assault of the deadly chemicals. I am thrilled to have recently found an alternative to smoking poisonous cigarettes that hopefully someday will become the norm. Smokers can come back in from the rain and once again be accepted by society as normal people. Proud To Be An American?

I'm sorry but I can not keep this to myself, here are some staggering facts about the U.S. and it's serious over population!

Here's what Americans have to be proud of!

"The United States is the third most populous country in the world following China and India. The U.S. population, currently more than 265 million, is growing by about 2.5 million people each year, making the United States one of the world's fastest-growing industrialized nations"

Could this growth be due to the staggering number of teenage pregnancies?

"Sixty percent of pregnancies and 40 percent of births in the United States are unintended. Among industrialized countries, it has one of the highest rates of teenage pregnancy."

Talk about your lack of self control, it's not bad enough there are so many mouths to feed and house in the U.S. but we need irresponsible children bringing babies into the world, that will be fed and housed by tax paying dollars! Just take a look at the number of teenage mothers on welfare in the U.S. and it will disgust you!

But it doesn't stop there, the impact that Americans have on the rest of the world is of grave concern!

The impacts of U.S. Population

  • Because Americans eat a diet heavy in beef and other animal products, U.S. per capita grain consumption is four times higher than that of developing countries.
Now there is something to be proud of, eating cows fattened up with grain, that could otherwise go to feeding starving people!

  • Americans constitute five percent of the world's population but consume 25 percent of the world's energy. On average, one American consumes as much energy as 2 Japanese, 6 Mexicans, 13 Chinese, 31 Indians, 128 Bangladeshis, 307 Tanzanians, or 370 Ethiopians.(7)
Does this mean that Americans are big fat pigs? Not really, since most pigs consume little to no animal parts or dairy, they don't generally have high cholesterol, aren't Diabetic don't have high blood pressure or heart disease or heart attacks and are actually healthier than most meat and dairy eating Americans. So it's really not fair to compare Americans to pigs now is it?

  • The United States is responsible for 22 percent of the world's industrial carbon dioxide emissions, a leading cause of global warming.
No question that the overpopulation of the U.S. makes it impossible for the U.S. to maintain a small environmental foot print!
  • In the last 200 years, the United States has lost 50 percent of its wetlands, 90 percent of its northwestern old-growth forests, and 99 percent of its tall grass prairie.
Again the price you pay for grazing cattle that eats grains that could otherwise go to feeding starving people.
  • Every day, an estimated nine square miles of U.S. rural land is lost to development
And you thought land erosion was only due to flooding and what not, unfortunately most land erosion is due to grazing and greed!

So now you can see what Americans have to be proud of.
Here's a tip America, lower your teenage pregnancy any way you can, even if you have to use draconian methods and stop eating meat and dairy, you will save your land and live longer, as well as help feed the starving people who need to be fed!
